Human Rights

Rwizi-network enhances capacity of CSOs, vulnerable and marginalized groups in the region to promote, protect, and monitor human rights abuses and violations. CSOs, their actors, and human rights defenders face a number of challenges in Western region and Uganda at large. Among the challenges there is of lack coordination among CSOs, limited knowledge of the law, lack of a referral system in seeking redress to human rights violations, abuses intimidation, insufficient resources to follow up cases, disrespect from state agents due to limited knowledge on CSO mandate in promoting, protecting, and upholding human rights.
