Democratic Governance
We aim to contribute to the realization of good governance, improved transparency and accountability in public expenditure at all levels. The core components of this Program is capacity building of CSOs and citizens to demand accountability and transparency for improved service delivery and capacity building of Media houses to engage in Budgetary Process, conduct investigative journalism, disseminate and raise awareness to key stakeholders on governance issues pertaining sustainable development.
Specific program objectives
- 1. To strengthen Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) and community’s participation in planning, budget analysis, and expenditure tracking for effective public services delivery.
- 2. To strengthen social accountability and oversight capacity of district councils and communities in promoting democratic governance.
- 3. To monitor public contracting processes and its implementation to enhance transparency, accountability, and effective service delivery.
Democratic governance for all
CSO’s participation is a central principle in every democracy. Rwizi-network facilitates CSOs to rally its constituency to meaningfully participate in governance and democratic system through voting in free and fair elections. Monitoring public projects, Involvement in community projects, self-help groups or charity initiatives;
Meaningful Citizen Participation
- Involvement in participatory planning and budgeting processes.
- Creation of inclusive platforms for lobby and advocacy.
- Organizing and facilitating stakeholder meetings, community dialogues, barazas, debates, and citizen jury’s and citizen parliaments
- Public Interest Litigation.
- Organizing and coordinating awareness campaigns and lawful protests.
